Ever since my girlfriends ditched their Blackberry phones, iPhone group chat has been a daily indulgence for us. I’m sure everyone says this but our chats are hilarious – it’s very difficult to hold in my laughter. Sometimes, one of us says something weird, as exhibited by the conversation below:

Me: Guys, I made Dave dinner from scratch yesterday and now I’m going…HIKING.
Jess: Stop.
Me: And hiking was my idea.
Bre: What?! Who are you and what did you do to Susan?
Jess: Yeah, where did Susan go?

I’m not the most athletic person as evidenced here nor am I usually up for cooking, as explained here, and I hate getting dirty, so their teasing was to be expected. Dave was coming down from Boston for the weekend so I thought we could take advantage of the trails around here instead of the usual venture into NYC. Here are some of my favorite moments.

Matzo Ball Soup as adapted from About.com. The recipe has been a success every time. I used a rotisserie chicken and replaced the chicken broth for chicken stock because I like to adjust the spice levels myself.
